The first section in Chapter two is about operating systems, what they are, and which one is best for your computer. The second section is about how to install and set up your operating system. The last section in Chapter two is how to update, apply patches, and bascially keep your operating system in check.

When selecting the operating system make sure that you have all the hardware to support the operating system and the human resource. There are four installation methods. clean, virtualization, multiboot, and upgrade. And you can maintain the operating system by keeping it up to date with the latest patches.

The OS system is designed to work with one user at a time, they enable the user to multitask. The OS system keeps track of every application used by the user.

There are different ways of installing an OS system: clean install, upgrade, multi-boot,
virtualization.

Once you have installed the OS system you have to maintain it. You maintain it by installing a "patch" a patch is a program code that can protect your OS system.

Chapter 2 talks about the different types of operating systems, and the different types of installs. There are commercial os and free os also called GPL. The section also talks about the different installs there is a clean install which is used of new cases or when the os has been damaged. There is the up-grade where a older os is enhanced by a new one, there is also the multi-boot where two os can be installed on the disk partition and you chose whoch one to boot when you start the computer. As time passes new viruses and defects in the os stand out more and more makeing the end user voulnerable so patches keep the computer up to date. and example of this would be windows service pack one and two.

I think that chapter 2 is about os
there are 4 types of os they are the virtualization, mutiboot, clean install, and upgrade. If you want to install a new one and your old one is not working than you use the clean install. when you want to launch more than one os at a time you use a multi boot.
When you want a picture looking one you should use virtualization.

Chapter 2 talks about System components and peripherals installation. Also how to get these parts to work together to perform a specific task, a special type of computer program.
A pre-installation checklist helps ensure that the installation process is successful.
also talks about patchs of program code that can correct a problem or enhance the functionality of an application program or OS.

Chapter 2 deals with the operating system. Operating systems are required to control most of the computers functions both input and output, by using a set amount of system resources depending on the OS. An OS can be installed 4 different ways: clean install, upgrade, multi-boot, and virtualization. Each way should be carefully considered and preparations taken. Patches should also be installed as they are released to repair errors in the OS, through:automatic, prompt, or manually installation. When a computer enters a network with a NIC, an IP address is assigned.

In chapter 2 we learned about prerateing systems.we learned that is it resonsible for makeing all of the components and software apps work together.we also learned about the kernel and the shell. We lastly learned that a NOS aloows a device to share resources among many users and treat networked resources as though they are directy connected.
